Phishers Move to Avvo for email Mining

I was getting a bit worried. Things were starting to slow down here. I had discontinued my listing with lawyers dot com and martindale dot com. That was where a bulk of my phishy emails were coming from. Lucky me! The phishermen (phisherpersons?) have moved past this old-school advertising model and onto the new kid on the block. And, of course, Avvo is a much better resource, given they have every lawyer listed, rather than only those that can afford the service.

I am still disappointed to see that the phishers have not taken the time to use some of Avvo tools to narrow searches and seek lawyers that are specific to the particular spam they wish to cast out for. For what they lack in talent, they make up for in tenacity. Here is the latest:

Gee whiz, Edward, you sure sound wound up. Weather on the islands getting you down? Did you not get the fruit cake basket that I sent last Christmas? I didn't even get a card from you! Now, I expect you to email me immediately at my private address you indignant, bloody barmy, codger.

Doesn't it seem distasteful to use the phrase "trust factor" and the word trust in the first sentence? I mean, you know I am not Robert Oerez. You have been sending me (and countless others) these emails for years. Do you want to use a company for your websites that spams lawyers? Continuously? Eesh.

I love these. My favorite part of this email is the part where is has state in parenthesis. I mean, I know where they get my email. It have my jurisdiction right there on the page. They simply have to plug in the state. The directions could not be more clear. I mean, they took the time to plug a name in the parenthesis. One more step. This is just laziness and I am really disappointed. Again, let's step it up phishermen. A little bit of effort goes a long ways when you are scamming lawyers.
