I have already advised him I am planning on retaining your firm. Send me a copy of your retainer agreement so I can go through the terms and conditions of your firm, Also let me know how much it will cost me for your services and the mode of remittance. Thank you and awaits your soonest response.

  1. Dear Counsel,

My name is Jennifer Nikawa. I am contacting your firm in regards to a divorce settlement with my ex husband Amsberry Nikawa who resides in your jurisdiction.

I am currently on assignment in S.Korea. We had an out of court agreement (Collaborative Law Agreement) for him to pay $648,450.00 plus legal fees. He has only paid me $148,000 since.

I am hereby seeking your firm`s assistance in collecting the balance from him.

He has agreed already to pay me the balance but it is my belief that a Law firm like yours is needed to help me collect/enforce payment from my ex-husband or litigate this matter if he fails to pay as promised.

    Your's truly,

    Jennifer Nikawa

  2. I also received the first email, verbatim. I sent back a simple reply asking the writer to call our office.

I could've just ignored it, but thought it might be fun to talk to someone like this on the phone.

Even if they don't call, it will be interesting to see where they go from here.

    Dear Counsel,

My name is Ms. Laurie Zhang-Yue. I was married to my ex husband Randy Zhang-Yue (who lives in your jurisdiction). In September 2009, We mutually agreed under a Collaborative Participation Law Agreement to go our separate ways. RANDY had agreed to pay me $650,000.00 USD under terms of the agreement so that I can settle down and to his credit; he has paid me $100,000.00 USD but with an outstanding balance of $550,000.00.I am hereby seeking your legal assistance in collecting the balance or helping me enforce the agreement, and have him honor the agreement in entirety.
I will be providing further information upon your request. I believe that one of the reasons he has refused to pay is because I have re-married. I understand that been remarried does not automatically void the agreement. Prior to our separation due to irreconcilable differences, we were married for 22yrs of which by his instruction, I was a full time house wife to carter for our child. Please get back to me if this is a case you can undertake. Let me know if you require consultation fee before you advice or look at the evidence, I am hereby seeking your firm to assist in collecting the balance from him. He has agreed already to pay me the balance but it is my belief that a Law firm like yours is needed to help me collect payment from my ex-husband or litigate this matter if he fails to pay as promised.
    Sincerely,
    Ms. Laurie Zhang-Yue

  6. She has emailed us repeatedly but will never call as requested. She actually did send us an attachment with her purported contract with her husband. It had 3 dates for payment of these sums all of which were before the date the contract was signed. It was one page. There were no witnesses or notaries and her full name was not included with her "signature".
We quoted her an outrageous retainer to see what she would do. She insists on commitment that someone agree to help her and send their retainer contract and then she'll "send details".
One of her emails was as follows:

  8. Hi I received the same e-mail. She states that her husband lives in my juridsiction. I simply replied and asked her where her husband lives. Haven't heard back yet but I'm sure it will be fun if I do. Knew this was a scam from jump street. RJM
